Terms & Conditions — Murmur

Last updated: 4 July 2026

Draft — this is a starting template prepared by TriCode Studio. Murmur did not have a separately published Terms page on Google Play at the time of writing. Please review and adjust before treating it as final.

By downloading, installing or using Murmur — Voice Notes: Offline AI (the “App”), published by TriCode Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Licence to use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal use, in accordance with these terms and the Google Play Terms of Service.

2. What you may not do

  • Copy, modify, or create derivative versions of the App, or any part of it.
  • Attempt to extract, decompile, or reverse-engineer the source code, except to the extent permitted by law.
  • Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices or trademarks.
  • Use the App in any unlawful way or in breach of these terms.

3. Your content is yours — and stays on your device

Murmur transcribes your recordings on your own device. Your voice recordings, transcripts and action items are stored only on your device; we do not receive, host, or have access to them. You are solely responsible for your content and for keeping your own backups. Because your content lives on your device, deleting a note or uninstalling the App will permanently delete it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

4. Microphone permission

Recording a voice note requires microphone access, which is used only when you actively start a recording, and is always shown by an ongoing notification. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record any audio you capture and for complying with any applicable recording-consent laws.

5. On-device transcription & the speech model

Transcription is performed on your device using an open-source, third-party speech-recognition model that the App downloads once from public hosting. That model is provided by its respective authors under its own licence, “as is”, and automated transcription may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing transcripts and any action items before relying on them.

6. Network use

The App uses the internet only to (a) perform the one-time download of the speech model and (b) process purchases through Google Play Billing. It contains no advertising, analytics or tracking, and your recordings and transcripts are never uploaded.

7. Purchases (Murmur Pro)

The App offers an optional “Pro” upgrade as a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed by Google Play Billing under Google’s Terms of Service; we never receive your payment details. Subscriptions renew and can be cancelled through your Google Play account, and refunds are handled according to Google Play’s policies. Features included in Pro may change over time.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that transcriptions will be accurate, or that your locally stored data will never be lost.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TriCode Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage, or any loss of data (including recordings or transcripts stored on your device), arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.

10. Updates & availability

We may update, change, or discontinue the App (or any feature) at any time. Some updates may be required for the App to continue working. We may also stop providing the App without prior notice.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
