Privacy Policy — WaveClean

Effective date: 2026-05-08  ·  Last updated: 2026-07-01

This Privacy Policy describes how the WaveClean mobile application (“WaveClean”, “the App”, “we”, “us”), published by TriCode Studio, handles information when you use it.

WaveClean is a single-purpose utility that plays low-frequency audio tones through the device speaker to help dislodge water and dust, and to test speaker output. WaveClean does not require an account, does not record audio, and does not ask for personal information.

1. Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
  • Account credentials (we have no login)
  • Microphone audio, photos, contacts, calendar, or files
  • Precise (GPS-level) location
  • Health, fitness, or biometric data

Our advertising and analytics providers do derive an approximate, IP-based location at the country/region level — this is described in Section 2.

2. Information collected by the App and our service providers

We use a small number of third-party SDKs to display ads, process in-app purchases, and gather basic crash diagnostics where applicable. Each is described below.

2.1 Google AdMob (advertising)

We display advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect a limited set of device and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads, including:

  • Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / Apple IDFA), where the user has consented
  • Approximate (IP-derived) location at the country level
  • Device type, OS version, and language
  • Crash diagnostics related to the ad SDK

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain GDPR-compliant consent before personalised ads are shown. You can change your ad-personalisation choice at any time from Settings → Privacy Options inside the App.

For full details on AdMob’s data handling, see Google’s privacy disclosure: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads

2.2 RevenueCat (in-app purchases)

WaveClean offers an optional one-time “Premium” in-app purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and verified through RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives:

  • A randomly-generated anonymous user ID created on your device
  • The purchase transaction reported by Apple or Google (product, price, currency, country)
  • Device platform and country code

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, payment card number, or any other personal account detail. Apple and Google handle the actual payment.

For RevenueCat’s privacy practices, see: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

2.3 Apple App Store / Google Play (payments)

Payment for the Premium purchase is processed entirely by Apple App Store (on iOS) or Google Play Billing (on Android). We do not see your payment details. Their privacy policies apply to that payment data:

2.4 Google Firebase (crash reporting, analytics, configuration)

WaveClean uses Google Firebase to diagnose crashes, understand how the app is used, and manage feature configuration. Firebase does not receive your name, email, or payment details. The following Firebase services are active:

Firebase Crashlytics collects diagnostics when the app closes unexpectedly, including:

  • Stack traces and the sequence of events leading up to the crash
  • Device model, operating-system version, language, and available memory/storage at the time of the crash
  • A random Crashlytics installation identifier that is not linked to your identity

Firebase Analytics collects aggregate, pseudonymous usage data to help us improve the app, including:

  • App events such as launches, screen views, and cleans started or completed
  • Device model, OS version, app version, and language
  • A pseudonymous app-instance identifier and the Advertising ID (where the user has consented)
  • Approximate (IP-derived) location at the country/region level

Firebase Remote Config downloads configuration values (such as default settings and feature flags) using that same pseudonymous app-instance identifier; it does not collect additional personal data.

You can limit analytics collection through your device’s advertising/privacy settings, and your EEA/UK/Switzerland ad-personalisation choice (Section 2.1) also applies. For Google’s Firebase data handling, see: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

3. How the data is used

The data described above is used only to:

  • Show ads (AdMob)
  • Diagnose crashes and improve stability and features (Firebase Crashlytics, Analytics, Remote Config)
  • Verify and restore your in-app purchase (RevenueCat, Apple, Google)
  • Comply with applicable advertising-consent law (UMP)

We do not sell or rent your data. We do not use your data for cross-app advertising profiles beyond what AdMob does as a normal ad network.

4. Children’s privacy

WaveClean is rated Everyone / 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at the email below and we will delete it.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information held about you
  • Request correction or deletion of that information
  • Opt out of personalised advertising (use Settings → Privacy Options)
  • Lodge a complaint with a data-protection regulator

To exercise any of these rights, email us. Because WaveClean does not collect direct identifiers from you, we may need additional information to locate any record before we can act on a request.

GDPR (EU / UK / Switzerland)

The legal bases we rely on are:

  • Consent — for personalised advertising (collected via UMP)
  • Legitimate interest — for non-personalised advertising and basic SDK telemetry that keeps the App working
  • Contract — for processing your in-app purchase

CCPA / CPRA (California)

We do not “sell” personal information for money. AdMob’s behavioural ad signals may, under California law, be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can opt out by selecting non-personalised ads in Settings → Privacy Options.

6. Data retention

We retain only what our service providers retain on our behalf. RevenueCat retains your anonymous purchase record indefinitely so that “Restore Purchases” continues to work. AdMob’s and Firebase’s retention are governed by Google’s policies (linked above); Firebase Analytics data is retained according to the retention window configured in our Firebase project, and Crashlytics reports are retained by Google for a limited period.

7. Security

Data sent between the App and our service providers is transmitted over HTTPS / TLS. We do not run our own servers; there is no WaveClean account database that could be breached.

8. Changes to this policy

If we materially change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where required, surface the change inside the App on next launch.
